FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions

Use GoosleeBot:
  • If your work meetings happen in Google Meet or Zoom but you chat in Telegram
  • If you have issues with the built-in Telegram call, under unstable or restricted network conditions
When the built-in call doesn't work, drops or you need to connect via a corporate service, the bot automatically creates a meeting link in Google Meet, Zoom, Jitsi, FaceTime or Microsoft Teams — right in your chat. No need to switch apps or copy links manually.

🤝 Business calls and work conferences: Start a Google Meet call right from your work Telegram chat — no links, no schedulers.

👨‍👩‍👧 Family call: Gather your family on Jitsi or FaceTime with a button tap in the group chat.

🎓 Online lesson: A teacher starts a Zoom meeting in seconds, a student joins instantly from the chat.

🌐 Unstable Telegram call: If a Telegram call drops — the bot switches you to a stable provider without any extra steps.

GoosleeBot supports Google Meet, Zoom, FaceTime, Microsoft Teams and Jitsi. An experimental Gooslee provider is also available. Each service creates a meeting link that is sent directly to your Telegram chat.

Open Telegram, find @GoosleeBot and tap Start. Then tap ⚙ Settings and choose your preferred call services. Setup takes less than a minute.

Tap ⚙ Settings in the bot. You'll see a list of providers — Google Meet, Zoom, FaceTime, Teams, Jitsi. Toggle each one on or off. For Zoom and Google Meet you'll need to authorize via OAuth (you'll be redirected). For FaceTime, Teams and Jitsi no extra auth is needed.

Type @GoosleeBot in any Telegram chat, select "Create a call" and confirm. If Google Meet is configured or auto-selected, the bot will create a meeting and post the link. Both participants tap the link to join. Requires a Google account.

First authorize Zoom in ⚙ Settings → Zoom → Quick Setup. Then type @GoosleeBot in a chat and create a call. The bot generates a Zoom link once both parties connect. Requires a Zoom account.

When the built-in Telegram call fails to connect or drops, GoosleeBot helps you call via services like Google Meet, Zoom, Jitsi and others. The join link appears right in the chat — no need to switch apps or copy links.

How it works technically: Telegram doesn't allow bots to make direct audio calls, so GoosleeBot uses a smart solution to simulate a ringtone:
  1. The bot sends you a special incoming call message.
  2. Every few seconds the message is deleted and re-sent.
  3. On each update Telegram plays the new-message notification sound.
Result: if you set a ringtone-like notification sound for the bot chat, it creates the effect of a real incoming call. 🔔

To configure: open ⚙ Settings"Ringtone", pick a melody and set it as the notification sound for the bot chat in Telegram settings.

💡 Tip: Make sure Telegram notification sounds are enabled in your device settings and the bot chat is not muted. See also — FAQ: How do I choose a ringtone.

Auto-select lets the bot automatically pick the best available provider when you initiate a call. It checks which providers both participants have configured and selects the one available to both. You can always manually choose a specific service.

In ⚙ Settings navigate to the "Ringtone" section. You'll find a list of ready-made melodies — tap any to preview, then select the one you like. You can also upload your own audio file.

After choosing a ringtone, set it as the notification sound for the bot chat in Telegram settings:
  1. Download the chosen audio file to your device.
  2. Open the GoosleeBot chat in Telegram.
  3. Go to that chat's settings → "Notifications".
  4. Select the downloaded file as the notification sound.
🎵 File requirements: MP3 or M4A, up to 300 KB, up to 30 seconds — these are Telegram's limits for custom ringtones. See also — FAQ: How do I enable ringtone notifications for incoming calls?

Jitsi is available out of the box — no account or OAuth needed. Enable it in ⚙ Settings → Jitsi. The bot creates a Jitsi room and posts the link. Works in browser, no install required.

Enable FaceTime in ⚙ Settings → FaceTime. Note: FaceTime only works if BOTH participants have Apple devices with Apple ID.

Enable Teams in ⚙ Settings → Microsoft Teams. Requires a Microsoft corporate account.

Gooslee provider is an experimental built-in call service without third-party services. Enable it in ⚙ Settings → Gooslee (Experimental).

Although GoosleeBot creates links that work in browsers, installing native apps (Google Meet, Zoom, Teams, Jitsi) gives you better audio/video quality, background effects, screen sharing, and reliability. We recommend installing apps for services you plan to use regularly.
