Why start a Teams call from Telegram?

A discussion in a Telegram chat reaches the point where typing is slower than talking. Then comes the detour: open Microsoft Teams, find the person in the company directory, start the call, go back to Telegram and ask them to pick up.

GoosleeBot removes the detour. Type @GoosleeBot in the chat, create a call and choose Microsoft Teams: the bot builds a Teams call link for the person on the other side and posts a call button into the conversation. One tap opens Microsoft Teams — desktop, mobile or web client — and the video call starts. Video is on by default.

The meeting itself does not change: an ordinary Teams call inside your organisation's tenant, with the screen sharing, background effects and recording your Microsoft 365 plan allows. Only the starting point moves into Telegram.

What you need before the first call

GoosleeBot never asks you to sign in to Microsoft and does not read your mail or calendar. There is exactly one setting: the work email or UPN you use for Microsoft 365, Teams and Outlook. Personal accounts such as outlook.com or hotmail.com are not supported for Teams calls. The link always points at the person being called, so both sides save their address once — then calls work in either direction.

How it works

  1. Open Telegram, find @GoosleeBot and tap Start.
  2. Tap ⚙ Settings → Microsoft Teams and enter your Microsoft 365 work email (UPN). The status changes to “Configured”.
  3. In any Telegram chat type @GoosleeBot, create a call and select Microsoft Teams. The bot posts a call button into the chat.
  4. Tap the button: Microsoft Teams opens and rings the other person's work account.

What the other person sees

A normal Telegram message with a call button. Tapping it opens Microsoft Teams with an incoming call from your work account — the same notification as any other Teams call. Nothing extra is installed, no calendar event appears, no invitation email is sent. Without the app, the link opens the Teams web client.

Limits worth knowing about

Everything after the call connects belongs to Microsoft Teams: call length, participant count, recording and transcription depend on your organisation's Microsoft 365 plan and your administrators' policies, and those conditions can change. GoosleeBot only delivers the link. If Teams does not fit, switch the provider — auto-select picks a service both sides have configured.

FAQ

No. There is no OAuth screen and no password for Teams: the bot stores only the work email or UPN you sign in to Microsoft 365 with, and builds the call link from it. You can clear it in Settings at any time.

Yes, once: the link points at their Teams account, so they need their own work address saved in the bot. Then they just answer the incoming call.

No. Only work and school accounts inside a Microsoft 365 tenant are supported; outlook.com or hotmail.com will not work for Teams calls — use Google Meet, Zoom or Jitsi instead.

No. GoosleeBot starts an instant Teams call, not a scheduled meeting: nothing is written to your Outlook calendar and no invitation email is sent.
